Abstract:
The progress in adopting Digitalization in the oil and gas industry is very limited over the last two decades, since the time Digital Oilfields concept was discussed. The industry has generated massive amounts of dark data from the complex workflows and operations. To produce oil as the lowest cost per boe, remains the fundamental goals of all stakeholders across the oil well lifecycle. The data collected by the industry players, has significant insights to remove the cost of inefficiency. However, to leverage the data, the industry needs to enhance their digital maturity toward Digital Disruption. In this talk, I will present what is digital maturity from Digitization to Digital Disruption, what are foundational aspects of digital transformation, and showcase some business cases where significant economic value is generated using the data at scale. I will also discuss the role of talent transformation, as one of the key aspects for digital maturity. Finally, a success roadmap for the Digital transformation of the oil and gas industry will be presented.

Biography:
Satyam Priyadarshy, Ph.D., is a Technology Fellow, the Chief Data Scientist and Managing Director-India Centre at Halliburton, a global oilfield service company. He is recognized as the first Chief Data Scientist of the oil and gas industry. He has appeared as a keynote speaker at numerous international conferences, published research papers in many peer-reviewed journals and magazines. He serves on several advisory boards including SPE, SEG, OTC, EnGenious, and other industry organizations like Financial Times, World AI Show, CEB and Frost. Dr. Priyadarshy obtained his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and MBA from The Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech.
