SPE is a not-for-profit organization and any surplus from our events and activities are re-invested in a wide range of SPE initiatives designed to inspire the next generation of industry professionals. You can support us in a number of ways and by doing so, you are directly helping to support our next generation. Last year as a direct result of the support from our partners, sponsors and advertisers that these are just a few of the things we did:
- Awarded £12,000 through our student bursary awards
- Sponsored and supported “Floating and Sinking” workshop at TechFest Science Festival
- Sponsored and supported TechFest’s Maths in the Pipeline
- Attended the Association of Science Education Scotland annual conference
- Educated local teachers with a show-around at SPE / ICoTA Well Intervention Conference

How can you support us?
Evening Meetings
The evening dinner meetings provide technical presentations on topical industry challenges and the opportunity to network with fellow professionals. They are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month September–November and January–May. At least 2 of these presentations are given by SPE Distinguished Lecturers; global industry experts nominated by their peers to share knowledge and expertise through visits to local SPE Sections around the world. These meetings are organised by the Programme Committee, made up entirely of volunteers. Conferences
We run a number of Conferences throughout the year covering different themes from Seismic to Topsides, Well Decomissioning to Artificial Lift and more. Offshore Achievement Awards
The SPE Aberdeen Offshore Achievement Awards is the biggest and longest established industry awards for the UK offshore energy sector, covering all aspects from supply to upstream operations and offshore renewables. For over thirty years, the awards have been celebrating and encouraging innovation and collaboration in the North Sea. There are several sponsorship opportunities available.
