Skills For A Just Energy Transition

Constructive Conversations Series

#daretocare

Due to reasons beyond our control this event is being postponed until later in the year.

Constructive Conversations #daretocare are a series of collaborative discussion events hosted by SPE Aberdeen Diversity & Inclusion committee & the Energy Institute (AHI).

Energy Transition, transition to net zero, a renewable future – what does all of this mean for those of us who have dedicated years building skills and experience in an industry that is undergoing fundamental change?

It is estimated that around 200,000 people will be required in 2030 to support activities in the UK offshore energy sector, including offshore wind, hydrogen, CCUS activities and oil and gas. This compares to around 160,000 people directly and indirectly employed in the UK offshore energy sector in 2021. To ensure this industry in transition is set up for success, we will need to unlock all the talent in our sector as well as be able to attract new skills and capabilities.

While we are excited about what lies ahead, we want to make sure that nobody gets left behind.

Join us for this event where we ask key industry representatives give insight into future career opportunities in the energy industry, including the leadership and business skills required to make the transition, recruitment processes & challenges for those who are not just transitioning industries but also adapting their careers.
