Abstract:

Andy will deep dive into the world of commercial diving explaining different aspects of the physiology, diving methods – we will really dive deep, and last but not least governance as an important factor to get all divers safely back to the surface. No scuba diving this time but for sure a very interesting session to better understand how human beings are able to work 200 m below the surface.

Biography:

Andy started in the diving industry in June 1981 at the tender (innocent) age of 16 and has over 40 years’ experience, primarily working in life support, dive system installation/ assurance, diving management systems, and dive crew competency.
He is the TechnipFMC Diving Technical Authority for diving governance on global diving operations and SME for automated diving systems on TechnipFMC industry leading DSV’s Deep Arctic and Deep Explorer. He is also the project manager for Deep Arctic and Explorer automated dive system operational software development, and coordinator for simulation training and framework.
Andy is also an elected member of IMCA Diving Division Management Committee (DDMC) and Vice Chair of IMCA Competency & Training Committee (C&T).

Andy is a regimental golfer and keen armchair motorsports matter specialist, preference to 2 wheels over 4. He is 57 years young , married for 37 years with a 24 year old son born and bred in Scotland.
